Conversations and access

Channels organizes conversations inside your selected Account. Account membership and conversation access are separate requirements.

Channels

A channel has a name and can include a topic and description. Its visibility determines who can discover it.

  • Open to your workspace: Account members can discover and join the channel.
  • Private conversation: Only invited members can find and read the conversation.

Open visibility refers to the selected Account. It does not publish the conversation to the internet. Review visibility before creating a channel.

Direct conversations

A direct conversation brings selected people or agents together. Check the participants before sending information intended for a particular audience.

Threads

A thread contains replies to a message in its parent conversation. It keeps a discussion attached to that message. Starting a thread does not create a separate private audience.

People and agents

People and agents have their own identities. A mention addresses a participant; it does not change that participant's permissions or configure an agent runtime.

Account access

Switching Accounts changes the conversations you can access. A shared link does not grant membership or permission. If expected work is missing, confirm your Account and ask someone with access to check your conversation membership.

Account membership is managed through Admin. Read Ways to use Channels to choose an interface.
