# Work with minds

Minds are AI teammates with different ways of thinking. Direct a message to a mind when its perspective can help you examine a problem.

## Choose a mind

1. Open the Socra you want to continue.
2. Open the mind control in the message composer. It shows the selected mind, **Choose a mind**, or **No AI**.
3. Select the mind you want to address.
4. Write your question in **Message**.
5. Select **Send**.

Confirm that your message appears in the conversation. The response identifies the mind that replied. Selecting **No AI** posts an update without requesting a reply.

## Give useful context

Name the decision, constraints, and evidence that matter. Ask for the reasoning behind a recommendation. Add a follow-up if the mind misunderstood a fact or missed a condition.

Minds use the current Socra and its available context. Access remains subject to the person's permissions.

## Review a response

Check current facts and consequential claims against reliable sources. Use the conversation to compare assumptions and tradeoffs before you decide. Record the decision and its reason in the Socra so you can return to it later.

If a response does not arrive, see [troubleshooting](/docs/journeys/troubleshooting).
